About Us

Make Do and Mend

CC41 Studio is a San Francisco-based repair and reimagining studio rooted in the belief that the things we already own hold more potential than we give them credit for. Before you head out to buy something new, we want you to open your closet, pull out that piece that's been sitting in the back, and imagine what it could become.

We breathe new life into garments through color, unique fabrics, mending techniques from around the world, and a little whimsical charm. Every repair is personal. Every piece tells a story.

Where the Name Comes From

CC41 is named after a wartime British utility movement — a standard born out of necessity that became a symbol of quality, resourcefulness, and making things last. That spirit is at the heart of everything we do.

But this studio is also deeply personal. Since the age of five, our founder Isabella was shaped by two grandmothers — Joy and Joan — who mended, sewed, and thrifted with intention. That craft, passed down through generations and enriched by a lifetime of global travel, lives in every stitch we make.

What Makes Us Different

We source 95% of our materials secondhand. Our garment tags are tied on with scrap yarn and cut from old playing cards. Patterns are drafted on Trader Joe's bags. Every piece of furniture and art in the studio is secondhand. We try to consume as little "new" as possible — because we believe the most sustainable thing is what already exists.

Community & Craft in San Francisco

CC41 is more than a studio — it's a gathering place. We want to connect the San Francisco community through mending, craft, and repair. To make mending over consumption a daily practice and a shared mindset. Whether you're an experienced maker or someone who's never picked up a needle, there's a place for you here. Come curious. Come with questions. Come with that jacket you've been meaning to fix for three years.

We can't wait to create something together.
